Fifty Trees for Fifty Years
6 Feb 2014
Tambuzi joined other Kenyans in celebrating fifty years of Independence at the end of last year. They did this by planting fifty indigenous trees by a dam located on the farm, in a fun and uplifting ceremony.
At midday on December 12th, 2013, more than four hundred Tambuzi employees as well as the Tambuzi Directors and their children all assembled around the dam for the event.
The fifty tree-planting holes had been prepared prior to the planting ceremony; so much of the work was already done. Yet each precious tree had at least eight employees taking care of the compost, watering, and the actual planting and mulching work. Everyone gladly got to work getting fifty native Kenyan trees, including the flamboyant Nandi Flame, into the ground.
